Your journey begins in Buenos Aires, exploring the rich marshes of Costanera Sur and the diverse habitats of Ceibas, where wetlands, grasslands and gallery forests host a remarkable variety of species.

🐧 Atlantic Coast – Penguins, Seabirds & Marine Wildlife

THE EXPERIENCE

Flying south to Trelew, you enter the realm of the Magellanic Penguin, visiting the massive colony at Punta Tombo. Peninsula Valdés adds dramatic cliffs, turquoise bays and thriving colonies of marine mammals and seabirds.

Species highlights: Brown Skua • Giant Petrels • Imperial, Rock & Neotropic Cormorants • Chubut Steamerduck (endemic) • Magellanic Penguin.

🌵 Patagonian Steppe – Land of Endemics

THE EXPERIENCE

Driving north toward Las Grutas, the landscape opens into the vast Patagonian steppe. Here, flocks of Darwin’s Rhea mix with herds of Guanacos, and the arid plains host several iconic endemics:

Rusty‑backed Monjita • Patagonian Canastero • Eremobius • Cinnamon Warbling‑Finch • Carbonated Sierra‑Finch.

The coastline of San Antonio Oeste offers superb birding for shorebirds, gulls and terns.

❄️ Tierra del Fuego – The End of the World

THE EXPERIENCE

Flying to Ushuaia, you enter the subantarctic forests of Tierra del Fuego, home to some of the most sought‑after birds of southern South America.

Key species: Magellanic Woodpecker • Thorn‑tailed Rayadito • White‑throated Treerunner • Austral Pygmy‑Owl • Ashy‑headed Goose • Fuegian Steamer‑Duck • Dolphin Gull • Chilean Skua.

A navigation through the Beagle Channel adds cormorants, petrels and marine mammals to the list.

🧊 Southern Andes – Glaciers & High Country Birds

THE EXPERIENCE

The journey continues to El Calafate, exploring Laguna Nimez and the iconic Los Glaciares National Park, where the Perito Moreno Glacier dominates the landscape.

Birding highlights: Spectacled Duck • Black‑chested Buzzard‑Eagle • Andean Condor • Upland Goose • Chilean Flamingo.

The eastern steppe offers chances for specialties such as: Patagonian Tinamou • Austral Canastero • Ruddy‑headed Goose • Magellanic Plover.

AM: Ceibas. PM: Return to Buenos Aires. Night: Buenos Aires (B‑L‑D)

Day 4 

Flight to Trelew. PM: Punta Tombo Penguin Colony. Night: Trelew (B‑L‑D)

Day 5 

Full day at Peninsula Valdés. Night: Trelew (B‑L‑D)

Day 6 

Transfer to Las Grutas with birding en route. Night: Las Grutas (B‑L‑D)

Day 7 

Birding in Las Grutas & San Antonio Oeste. Night: Las Grutas (B‑L‑D)

Day 8

Drive to Trelew Airport with birding stops. Flight to Ushuaia. PM: Glaciar Martial. Night: Ushuaia (B‑L‑D)

Day 9 

Full day in Tierra del Fuego NP + Beagle Channel navigation. Night: Ushuaia (B‑L‑D)

Day 10

AM: Flight to El Calafate. PM: Laguna Nimez. Night: El Calafate (B‑L‑D)

Day 11

Full day at Los Glaciares NP. Night: El Calafate (B‑L‑D)

Day 12 

AM: Steppe habitats east of El Calafate. PM: Flight to Buenos Aires. Night: Buenos Aires (B‑L)

Day 13 

Transfer to Ezeiza International Airport. End of services.
